                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 7, 2013      TO: Honorable Bob Deuell, Chair, Senate Committee On Economic Development      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB894 by Whitmire (Relating to exempting qualifying projects within the Capitol Complex from the public and private facilities and infrastructure contracting requirements.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code, Chapter 2267, on public and private facilites and infrastructure to exempt qualifying projects within the Capitol Complex from the contracting requirement of this chapter. Multiple agencies including the Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA), the Texas Facilities Commission (TFC), the Department of Public Safety (DPS), the General Land Office (GLO), the Texas A&M University System (TAMU) and the University of Texas System (UT) indicate that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within each agency's existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
