The bill would amend the Government Code, Chapter 2267, on public and private facilites and infrastructure to exempt qualifying projects within the Capitol Complex from the contracting requirement of this chapter. Multiple agencies including the Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA), the Texas Facilities Commission (TFC), the Department of Public Safety (DPS), the General Land Office (GLO), the Texas A&M University System (TAMU) and the University of Texas System (UT) indicate that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within each agency's existing resources.
