SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1064
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Katrina Pierson for her ongoing efforts to raise
political awareness in Garland, Texas, and across the nation; and
WHEREAS, A self-made woman and successful professional,
she has in recent years become a high-profile and highly
motivated political activist; and
WHEREAS, Raised by a single mother, she helped to raise her
siblings while she also worked and attended school; the
experience impressed upon her the importance of personal values
and long-term goals; and
WHEREAS, Today, Katrina Pierson is a respected
professional in the field of medical practice management, but she
is perhaps best known for her work in founding the Garland Tea
Party, and she continues to serve on the Tea Party Caucus
advisory committee; and
WHEREAS, In great demand for her conservative political
commentary on a wide variety of issues, she has been a frequent
guest on local news shows, talk radio, and national television
and Internet news programs, and she has worked tirelessly in her
own community to advance the political beliefs that she holds
dear; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby commend Katrina Pierson for her continued
commitment to raising public awareness and engagement in
political processes and extend to her sincere best wishes in all
her future endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
