SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 138 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance on the occasion of Legislative Day, February 6, 2013; and WHEREAS, The Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance has served the business community of Fort Bend County for 103 years; a highly effective voice for area businesses, the chamber promotes economic growth and protects the interests of the county's business owners; and WHEREAS, Primarily serving the Cities of Rosenberg, Richmond, Fulshear, and Kendleton, the chamber has more than 700 member businesses and strives to improve the quality of life for all its area residents; and WHEREAS, The chamber's Infrastructure Department consists of area engineers and public officials who host an annual educational conference; its Governmental Affairs Department provides member businesses with a unified voice to address legislative issues; and WHEREAS, The chamber also has been shaping Fort Bend County leaders and decision-makers since 1986 through its Leadership Fort Bend Program; the nine-month program is noted for educating business and nonprofit professionals about the multiple functioning systems in the county; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby commend the Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance on its valuable contributions to the citizens and businesses of Fort Bend County and extend a warm welcome to all who are attending Legislative Day; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in honor of the Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance and as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
