SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 158 In Memory of Christi Stanley WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Christi Stanley, who died January 21, 2013, at the age of 58; and WHEREAS, Christi Stanley was born September 8, 1954, in Fort Worth; she married the love of her life, Jim Stanley, on February 14, 1987, and the couple raised three children, Amber, Jason, and Mary Katherine, who blessed them with nine grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Stanley played a vital role in the management of her husband's law firm, serving as office manager and directing the firm's large staff of attorneys and paralegals for more than 30 years; and WHEREAS, She was well known for her abilities in the field of historical restoration and was instrumental in the saving and preservation of the Walker Reeves home and the Japanese Cotton Embassy; she received awards for her work from such groups as the Fairmount Association and the National Register of Historic Places; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Stanley was a devout Christian who practiced her faith in her daily life; she also worked to support awareness and fundraising efforts for breast cancer and multiple sclerosis; and WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and determination, she gave unselfishly to others, and her optimistic spirit, her love of world travel, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten; and WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by her family and countless friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Christi Stanley; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Christi Stanley.
