                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 204
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize the Alcon Foundation, the Essilor Vision Foundation,
 and the Kids Vision for Life-Tarrant County Coalition for hosting
 Kids Vision Fest 2013 on February 1; and
 WHEREAS, Through this event, these organizations provide
 visual examinations and glasses that are most often an
 unaffordable luxury for families struggling to meet basic needs
 and expenses; and
 WHEREAS, At the event, children ages five through 12 who
 qualify under the 2012 federal poverty guidelines receive vision
 screenings and glasses at no cost; the festival includes games
 and giveaways and a roundtable discussion regarding children's
 vision care and its importance for educational success; and
 WHEREAS, By hosting the festival, these organizations
 perform a vital community service that enables underprivileged
 children who need vision correction to succeed in school, where
 they might otherwise have faced extreme difficulties; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 83rd Legislature, hereby commend the Alcon Foundation, the
 Essilor Vision Foundation, and the Kids Vision for Life-Tarrant
 County Coalition for generously hosting Kids Vision Fest 2013 on
 behalf of the children of Tarrant County; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 these organizations as an expression of esteem from the
 Texas Senate.
