                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 386
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Youth Leadership New Braunfels; and
 WHEREAS, Youth Leadership New Braunfels is a program of the
 New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored by the
 Leadership New Braunfels Alumni Association; and
 WHEREAS, This exceptional program was created as a means to
 train high school students in leadership techniques and
 community awareness so that they can become familiar with the
 issues, resources, and opportunities that affect their
 communities; and
 WHEREAS, Youth Leadership New Braunfels offers its
 participants a series of seven monthly school-day sessions that
 cover such subjects as city and county government, economic
 development, social needs, and personal skills; students are
 able to interact with community leaders to learn firsthand of the
 challenges facing the community; and
 WHEREAS, Since its inception, Youth Leadership New
 Braunfels has prepared more than 400 students to take on
 leadership roles and make a positive difference in their
 community, and the program's 16th class is graduating in 2013; it
 is truly fitting that this exceptional program be recognized for
 its outstanding work in preparing the leaders of tomorrow; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
 Legislature, hereby commend the sponsors and students of Youth
 Leadership New Braunfels on their dedication to community
 engagement and extend to them best wishes for continued success;
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
