                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 488
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize First National Bank of Hebbronville on the occasion of
 its 100th anniversary; and
 WHEREAS, This outstanding financial institution was
 organized on May 23, 1913, as the Hebbronville State Bank; it
 received its charter in July of that year and opened its doors
 with a capital investment of $25,000; and
 WHEREAS, The bank outgrew its original home on Texas
 Avenue, and in 1924, it moved into a new building on Galbraith
 Street; it became known as First National Bank in 1926, and as it
 continued to grow, the bank added such customer conveniences as a
 drive-up window and an automatic teller machine; the bank moved
 to its current location on North Smith Street in 1983; and
 WHEREAS, Today, First National Bank of Hebbronville holds
 more than $138 million in assets; as a reflection of its
 stability and good management, it was recently awarded the
 coveted Superior 5-Star rating by BauerFinancial, Incorporated,
 the nation's leading bank rating and research firm; and
 WHEREAS, Since its founding, First National Bank has provided
 the people of Hebbronville with superior service and sound financial
 advice, and it is truly deserving of recognition on the occasion of
 this milestone in its history; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 83rd Legislature, hereby commend First National Bank of
 Hebbronville on its longtime quality service and extend to its
 board members, officers, and employees best wishes for a
 memorable 100th anniversary; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 the bank as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
