SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 508
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Arabia Vargas, who has been selected for induction into
the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her outstanding work in
the legal field as an advocate for children; and
WHEREAS, The San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame honors those
women who have contributed significantly to the San Antonio
community and the Bexar County region through their
accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and
WHEREAS, A partner in the Law Offices of Arabia Vargas and
Lori Bindseil, Arabia Vargas has been instrumental in
representing hundreds of abused and neglected children in the
Bexar County Children's Court; she has also promoted and
consummated thousands of San Antonio adoptions; and
WHEREAS, She established a nationally recognized Adoption
Project in 2005, and in 2007, she received the United States
Congressional Coalition's Angels in Adoptions Award for her
tenacious efforts to streamline the adoption process for Bexar
County's foster children; she is an active member of the
Governor's Parental Advisory Council; and
WHEREAS, Arabia Vargas is held in high regard for her
dedication to her work and for her extraordinary accomplishments
on behalf of the children of Bexar County; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
83rd Legislature, hereby commend Arabia Vargas for her
exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on
her induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
