SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 509 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Frances A. Gonzalez, who has been selected for induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her outstanding work in public service; and WHEREAS, The San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame honors those women who have contributed significantly to the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and WHEREAS, Frances Gonzalez is credited with initiating and managing a number of programs and projects for the betterment of the community as both a volunteer and a public servant; during her tenure as assistant city manager, her accomplishments included orchestrating the transfer of city-operated health clinics to the county, which increased the availability of health care for all Bexar County area residents; and WHEREAS, She now serves as policy advisor to Mayor Julian Castro and oversees municipal service issues requiring agency and multijurisdictional collaboration; she has earned national recognition in the field of city management as the recipient of the Assistant Excellence in Leadership Award; and WHEREAS, Frances Gonzalez is highly respected for her dedication to her work and for her outstanding accomplishments as an innovative leader and public servant in the City of San Antonio; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby commend Frances A. Gonzalez for her exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on her induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
