SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 55
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Cedar Park High School Timberwolves football team,
which recently won the 2012 Class 4A Division II state
championship title; and
WHEREAS, The Timberwolves won their first Class 4A
Division II state championship in football by defeating
Lancaster High School by a score of 17-7 at Cowboys Stadium in
Arlington; and
WHEREAS, These young athletes have demonstrated great
talent and perseverance over the course of the season; team
members can take pride in their outstanding performance; and
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of a dedicated coaching
staff, the Timberwolves have developed exceptional teamwork and
discipline; and
WHEREAS, Cedar Park High School and the people of Cedar
Park are proud of the Timberwolves for their hard work, their
impressive skills, and their fine sportsmanship; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby commend the Cedar Park High School
Timberwolves for their successful season and extend
congratulations to them on winning the Class 4A Division II state
football championship; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
