SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 557 In Memory of Adolph Joubert, Jr. WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and commemorates the life of Adolph Joubert, Jr., who died March 12, 2013, at the age of 99; and WHEREAS, This distinguished gentleman was greatly admired and respected for his many achievements and his contributions to the community; and WHEREAS, He was married for more than 52 years to his beloved wife, the late Lillian P. Joubert; the couple was blessed with 14 children, who in turn gave them 30 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practiced his faith in his daily life, Mr. Joubert was a member of Mohorn Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, as president of the Usher Board, and as a Sunday school teacher; he was also a member of the Masonic Lodge; and WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he gave generously to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who were privileged to share in his life; and WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Adolph Joubert, Jr.; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Adolph Joubert, Jr. Ellis ________________________________ President of the Senate I hereby certify that the above Resolution was adopted by the Senate on March 27, 2013, by a rising vote. ________________________________ Secretary of the Senate ________________________________ Member, Texas Senate
