SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 562 In Memory of Hans Johann Muller WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Hans Johann Muller, who died March 6, 2013, at the age of 76; and WHEREAS, Hans Muller was born October 12, 1936, in Fischbach, Switzerland; he apprenticed as a baker as a young man before serving in the Swiss Army; he then worked at resorts in Switzerland and England until he accepted a job offer from the Ridglea Country Club in Fort Worth in 1963; and WHEREAS, Within a few years, he accomplished his goal of opening his own bakery, the Swiss Pastry Shop; he was known for his Black Forest cake, which had become the signature dessert at Ridglea Country Club; and WHEREAS, Among his many interests were traveling, skiing, and gardening; he was married to his wife, Sarabeth, for 25 years, and he was very proud that his son, Hans Peter, decided to continue the family legacy by taking over the pastry shop; and WHEREAS, A man of wisdom, strength, and compassion, he gave unselfishly to others, and his generous spirit, his gentle manner, and his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten; and WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Hans Johann Muller; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Hans Johann Muller.
