SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 605 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize John Robinson, who has been named the recipient of the 2013 Judge Scott Moore Award by Court Appointed Special Advocates of Tarrant County; and WHEREAS, This prestigious award is given annually to an individual for exemplary efforts in advocating on behalf of abused and neglected children in Tarrant County; and WHEREAS, Mr. Robinson is executive vice president for grant administration at the Amon G. Carter Foundation; a lifelong resident of Fort Worth and a magna cum laude graduate of Texas Christian University, he joined the foundation in 1980 and each year oversees the awarding of more than $20 million in funding for various civic and philanthropic efforts; and WHEREAS, Mr. Robinson's long legacy of civic engagement includes service on the boards of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Metropolitan Tarrant County, and he is a founding board member of the Fort Worth Partnership for Community Development; he has also served as board chair of Carter BloodCare, and his current efforts include serving as president of the Boy Scout Foundation; and WHEREAS, Mr. Robinson's efforts have had a profound impact on the Fort Worth community, and it is truly fitting that he be recognized for his exceptional work on behalf of abused and neglected children; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby commend John Robinson on his exceptional work in helping the most vulnerable among us and extend congratulations to him on being named the recipient of the Judge Scott Moore Award; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
