SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 641 WHEREAS, The Republican Women of Brazos Valley has made outstanding contributions to the Republican Party and to the community at large; and WHEREAS, A local affiliate of the Texas Federation of Republican Women, the Republican Women of Brazos Valley is dedicated to advancing conservative principles and helping Republicans win elected office; under the able leadership of President Nancy Waldie, the organization's 178 members engage in grassroots political activism along with numerous initiatives for the benefit of their fellow citizens; and WHEREAS, In the past year, members logged an impressive 25,000 hours of volunteer work and donated $2,500 in behalf of local Republican candidates, along with raising another $1,700 in support of the Wounded Warrior Project for military veterans; they have additionally hosted a number of primary debates, welcomed 300 new United States citizens at their swearing-in ceremonies, and distributed 150 books on Republican principles; and WHEREAS, Holding true to their convictions while exemplifying the spirit of civic involvement, members of the Republican Women of Brazos Valley may reflect with pride on all that they have done to build on the strength of their party and their community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby commend the Republican Women of Brazos Valley for its notable service and extend to the organization sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas Senate.
