SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 678 In Memory of Geraldine Brinck WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Geraldine Brinck, who died March 22, 2013, at the age of 81; and WHEREAS, Jerry Brinck was born January 10, 1932, in Waco; after graduating from Waco High School, she entered Baylor University as a voice and music student, but her affinity for working with children led her to change her major to elementary education; while attending the university, she was nominated for Baylor Beauty and Homecoming Queen; and WHEREAS, She was married to John Brinck for 59 years, and they raised three children and were blessed with four grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Brinck began a long and fulfilling career as a school teacher in 1967 in Kennedale and retired from James F. Delaney Primary School after 30 years of exemplary service; she was active in community and professional affairs and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, the Baylor Alumni Association, and the Texas Retired Teachers Association; and WHEREAS, She was known for her beautiful voice and often sang solo in churches and for radio stations and special events; and WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and dignity, she gave generously to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew her; and WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever by her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Geraldine Brinck; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jerry Brinck.
