SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 782 In Memory of Virgil Lee Norrell, Sr. WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Virgil Lee Norrell, Sr., who died April 8, 2013, at the age of 76; and WHEREAS, Virgil Norrell was an exemplary citizen who was widely admired in his community for his achievements; and WHEREAS, He was born June 18, 1936, in Van Zandt County to Ollie Carter Norrell and Clarence Claydin Norrell; he grew up in West Texas as a farmer and learned the value of hard work at an early age; and WHEREAS, After his graduation from high school, he joined the United States Air Force and served the nation with distinction during the Korean War; he went on to enjoy a fulfilling and productive career with Bell Helicopter; and WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he gave generously to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten; and WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his large and loving extended family and his many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Virgil Lee Norrell, Sr.; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Virgil Norrell, Sr. Davis ________________________________ President of the Senate I hereby certify that the above Resolution was adopted by the Senate on April 30, 2013, by a rising vote. ________________________________ Secretary of the Senate ________________________________ Member, Texas Senate
