                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 794
 WHEREAS, Gilbert Oliver Sanchez of Troop 1889 in Harlingen
 has recently been honored by the Boy Scout program for attaining
 the rank of Eagle Scout; and
 WHEREAS, Oliver planned, developed, and conducted a
 service project that has benefited his community, and he is
 recognized as an outstanding leader; Oliver created a live cactus
 fence at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's Las Palomas
 Wildlife Management Area and built a sign listing the names of
 other scouts who completed their service projects at the park;
 and
 WHEREAS, Oliver has brought great honor to himself in
 earning the coveted Eagle Badge, and his family, his troop, his
 community, and his state are justly proud of his great
 accomplishment; and
 WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and
 promise, this personable young man advanced through the ranks of
 Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star, and Life classes before
 reaching Eagle Scout; and
 WHEREAS, Oliver has become one of the select few who have
 earned this prestigious honor, and he is a shining example to the
 young people of Texas; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
 Legislature, hereby congratulate Gilbert Oliver Sanchez on
 becoming an Eagle Scout and commend him on this great
 achievement; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 Eagle Scout Sanchez as an expression of high regard from the
 Texas Senate.
