SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 827 In Memory of John A. Limon WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of John A. Limon, who died April 16, 2013, at the age of 73; and WHEREAS, John Limon was born January 27, 1940; he was a 1959 graduate of Austin High School, where he was a standout athlete; he helped lead the Maroons to numerous victories as a halfback on the football team, and he went on to play football for the University of Houston; and WHEREAS, After attending college, John returned to Austin and entered the entertainment field as owner of the Villa Latina and Mi Ranchito; he continued to enjoy participating in sports and was an outstanding pitcher for the Austin Jokers, the Austin Aces, and La Familia; and WHEREAS, Mr. Limon was married for many years to his beloved wife, Gracie; they raised three children, John, Anna, and Andrea, and were blessed with four grandchildren; and WHEREAS, A man of courage, warmth, and compassion, he gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, his generosity, and his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten; and WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of John A. Limon; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of John Limon.
