SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 880
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Nancy Beatrice Pharms as she and her family celebrate
her 95th birthday on May 25, 2013; and
WHEREAS, This loving soul and steadfast matriarch has long
inspired members of her family with her integrity and her
courageous attitude toward life; and
WHEREAS, Born in Milligan, Texas, to Mamie McGill and Sam
Williams, Nancy was one of four sisters; she married the late Dan
Pharms in 1935, and over the years to come, the couple had 13
children; and
WHEREAS, A remarkable woman with a generous spirit, Mrs.
Pharms has long been devoted to her church and has drawn strength
and grace from her faith, and she has instilled in her children
those cherished values; and
WHEREAS, Revered for her unconditional love, her warmth,
and her wisdom, Nancy Pharms is an enduring role model to her
family and friends; she is fortunate to celebrate her 95th
birthday in the loving embrace of her family, which includes more
than 50 grandchildren, more than 36 great-grandchildren, and
numerous great-great-grandchildren; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
83rd Legislature, hereby congratulate Nancy Beatrice Pharms on
the grand occasion of her 95th birthday and extend to her sincere
best wishes for a joyous celebration; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
