SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 891 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize May 15, 2013, as East Aldine District Legislative Day at the State Capitol; and WHEREAS, The East Aldine District is a governmental entity that was created by the Texas Legislature in 2001 to enhance the physical, social, and economic well-being of the people of the Aldine area; and WHEREAS, In 2002, with input from area residents, business owners, and civic leaders, the district adopted an eight-point Service and Action Plan to address the area's water and sewer infrastructure, transportation, environmental, health, public safety, and economic needs; and WHEREAS, The district has focused its efforts on creating an environment that will attract small industrial and service businesses; and WHEREAS, The East Aldine District has provided residents and businesses a unified voice with which to address their needs and concerns; the district's projects and services help the community to continue to grow and to remain on an economically prosperous path; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby commend the East Aldine District on its success in fostering a strong business climate and improving the lives of area citizens and extend best wishes to all for a productive East Aldine District Legislative Day at the State Capitol; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the East Aldine District as a memento of this special day.
