83S10590 BPG-D By: Smith H.R. No. 122 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the death of Fern C. Urban of Baytown on June 12, 2013, at the age of 84; and WHEREAS, The former Fern Broyles was born to Claude and Florence Broyles in Ripley, Oklahoma, on February 21, 1929; she met her future husband, Paul Urban, Sr., while a student at Oklahoma State University, and they were joined in matrimony in 1950; devoted to her four children, Buddy, Teresa, John, and Michael, she eventually knew the joy of welcoming two more generations into her cherished family; Mr. and Mrs. Urban shared a fulfilling relationship until his passing in 1995; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Urban worked for Starkey Plumbing for 30 years; she was an active parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and she was a member of the Serra Club; an avid gardener, she was particularly fond of growing orchids; and WHEREAS, Vibrant and caring, Fern Urban endeared herself to many people through her warmth, energy, and wonderful sense of humor, and although she will be deeply missed, she will forever hold a treasured place in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Fern C. Urban and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her sons, Buddy Urban and his wife, Donna, John Urban and his wife, Christine, and Michael Urban and his wife, Carolyn; to her son-in-law, Marty Mosier; to her grandchildren and their spouses, Heather and Brandon Louvier, Ashley and Blake Coburn, Keith and Mary Mosier, Shannon Mosier, John Paul and Lauren Urban, Matthew Urban, Trey, James, Erin, and Kelly Brasseaux, Brad and Citrine Urban, Andrew Urban, Kaci and Dennis Johnson, and Kristin Abshier; to her great-grandchildren, Anniston and Adley Louvier, Brayden and Tristyn Coburn, and Nicholas, Nathan, and Olivia Mosier; to her sisters, Ruth Marie Wyatt, Sarah Irene Crawford, and Betty Jean Harper; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Fern C. Urban.
