H.R. No. 36
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
passing of Raymond M. Arredondo of Dallas on May 31, 2013, at the
age of 90; and
WHEREAS, Born in Corsicana on October 14, 1922, Mr. Arredondo
was one of six children born to Raymond Arredondo, Sr., and Luz
Martinez Arredondo; he entered military service at the age of 20 and
proudly served his country in France, Central Europe, Rhineland,
and Normandy as a member of the 499th Medical Collecting Company
during World War II; after returning to civilian life, he earned a
living as a butcher; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Arredondo inspired others with his kindness,
patience, and warmth; he enjoyed a rewarding marriage of 65 years to
the former Juanita Castaneda, and he treasured the time he spent
with his daughter, Anita, his grandchildren, Raymond and Elizabeth,
and his great-grandchildren, Jason, Alycia, Christopher, Patricia,
and Isabella; and
WHEREAS, Although this esteemed Texan is deeply missed, he
will long be remembered with admiration and affection by all those
who held him dear; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
Raymond M. Arredondo and extend sincere sympathy to the members of
his family: to his wife, Juanita Arredondo; to his daughter, Anita
Davila; to his son-in-law, Jesse Davila; to his grandchildren,
Raymond Davila and Elizabeth Castaneda; to his grandsons-in-law,
Patrick West, Daniel Talbot, and Roland Castaneda; to his
great-grandchildren, Jason Davila, Alycia Davila, Christopher
West, Patricia West, and Isabella Talbot; and to his other
relatives and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas House
of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Raymond
Arredondo.
