The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to require law enforcement to obtain a search warrant before conducting a body cavity search. Magistrates issue search warrants; however, any increased time spent considering the applications for search warrants is expected to be minimal. The Office of Court Administration indicated no significant fiscal impact is anticipated. The Department of Public Safety indicated no fiscal impact is anticipated.
