 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Wood County residents lost an esteemed member of
 their community with the passing of Billy Frank Wansley of Quitman
 on June 27, 2013, at the age of 65; and
 WHEREAS, Born in Mineola on April 15, 1948, Mr. Wansley was
 the son of J. T. and Amie Wansley; shortly after graduating from
 high school in Quitman, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and
 completed a tour of duty in Vietnam; and
 WHEREAS, This courageous Texan subsequently forged a notable
 33-year career in law enforcement; he served as sheriff of Wood
 County from 2009 to 2012 and as chief of police in Quitman from 1995
 to 2008; and
 WHEREAS, A man of faith, Mr. Wansley was a valued congregant
 of Lake Fork Baptist Church in Alba; his other affiliations
 included the Sheriffs' Association of Texas, Marine Corps League
 Detachment 1278, in Mineola, American Legion Post 340, in
 Winnsboro, the Turkey Hill Shooting Club, in Mineola, the Lake
 Country Fraternal Order of Police, the Lake Country Republicans,
 and the American Quarter Horse Association; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Wansley and his first wife, Glenda, shared a
 rewarding relationship until her passing; fortunate to find love a
 second time, he enjoyed many happy family times with his wife
 Jeanette and took great pride in a cherished family circle that
 included their daughter, Tanya, and their two grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Although Bill Wansley is deeply missed, he leaves
 behind treasured memories and an admirable record of public
 service, legacies that will continue to comfort and inspire all who
 were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
 Billy Frank Wansley and extend sincere condolences to the members
 of his family: to his wife, Jeanette Wansley; to his daughter, Tanya
 Weems; to his siblings, Jerry Wansley, David Wansley, and Katie
 Turnage; to his grandchildren, Jody and Josh; and to his many other
 relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bill
 Wansley.
