No. 2 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Juliana Falcon graduated as the salutatorian of the Class of 2013 at Grulla High School; and WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Ms. Falcon demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted to her studies are myriad; and WHEREAS, Ms. Falcon also has given back to her community through volunteer work; a member of the Health Occupations Students of America, she joined her school's club in helping out at the Special Olympics and the Starr County Fair; she has volunteered through the National Honor Society, with the Starr County Youth Coalition, and with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Tax Counseling for the Elderly programs as well; and WHEREAS, This fall, Ms. Falcon will begin studying biology at The University of Texas at Austin; she hopes to become a pediatrician or family doctor and ultimately to open a medical practice; and WHEREAS, Juliana Falcon earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates at Grulla High School, and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Juliana Falcon, salutatorian of the Grulla High School Class of 2013, and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Falcon as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
