R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Metrocrest Republican Club, which serves the
Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, North Dallas, and Farmers Branch
areas, works to promote the principles of the Republican Party; and
WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1978 as The Republican Club
with 135 charter members, the organization has donated thousands of
dollars and volunteer hours to a host of worthy projects; in 1984,
the group's name was changed to Metrocrest Republican Club; and
WHEREAS, Through the MRC, citizens are able to gain a greater
understanding of governmental affairs, increase their knowledge of
current events, and participate in the campaigns of candidates with
similar views; and
WHEREAS, The vitality of a community depends in large measure
on an involved citizenry, and members of the Metrocrest Republican
Club are making a lasting difference through their commitment to
political activism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature, 2nd
Called Session, hereby recognize the Metrocrest
Republican Club and commend its members for their civic engagement;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
