 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A 25th wedding anniversary is an eloquent
 affirmation of enduring commitment, and Peter DeWitt Anderson, Jr.,
 and Leah O'Keefe Anderson of New Braunfels celebrated this special
 occasion on July 2, 2013; and
 WHEREAS, "Dee" and Leah Anderson were joined in matrimony in
 1988 at First United Methodist Church in San Marcos, where the
 groom's parents had been married 30 years before; the location was
 especially meaningful because Mr. Anderson's family had donated
 the chandeliers lighting the sanctuary in memory of his maternal
 grandmother, Idella Moore Cook; and
 WHEREAS, The former Leah Tereza O'Keefe first met her future
 husband and his constant companion, a yellow Labrador retriever
 named Rocket, at a party in Wimberley hosted by a close friend;
 months later they fortuitously ran into each other, literally, in
 New Braunfels while tubing the "Chute" water slide on the Comal
 River; Rocket happily approved the formation of a trio; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Anderson earned her bachelor's degree in
 fashion merchandising from Southwest Texas State University in San
 Marcos and went on to work in retail sales and as an artist's
 representative; after completing his bachelor's degree in
 mechanical engineering at The University of Texas at Austin,
 Mr. Anderson was employed by U.S. Gypsum in New Braunfels and then
 Birmingham, Alabama; he seized an opportunity to return to Texas,
 so the couple moved back to New Braunfels, where Mr. Anderson
 designs industrial expansion joints for Senior Flexonics; and
 WHEREAS, Over the years, the couple has been blessed with a
 daughter, Kaitlyn O'Keefe Anderson, and a son, Carter O'Keefe
 Anderson; these fine children keep their parents in perpetual
 motion following baseball, football, basketball, and volleyball
 games, as well as academic and volunteer activities at Cross
 Lutheran School and Canyon High School; Kaitlyn has also
 participated in several regional and national leadership
 conferences for high school students; and
 WHEREAS, The Andersons are valued members of Christ
 Presbyterian Church, where they frequently serve in leadership
 roles and have formed many loyal friendships; in 2012, the family
 joined a church mission trip to Peru to build a health clinic; after
 construction was complete, the younger Andersons eagerly tried
 surfing at a nearby beach, and the family also hiked up to tour the
 Incan ruins of Machu Picchu; and
 WHEREAS, Kaitlyn and Carter and grandparents Rita and Pete
 Anderson of Wimberley treasure their many happy days together, and
 they especially enjoy spending summer afternoons at the family
 cabin on Cypress Creek; Mrs. Anderson's relatives regularly visit
 Central Texas and warmly welcome the couple and their children to
 their home in Atlanta; and
 WHEREAS, For a quarter-century, Dee and Leah Anderson have
 honored their sacred vows to live faithfully as husband and wife,
 and they happily anticipate many more joyful years ahead; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Peter DeWitt
 Anderson, Jr., and Leah O'Keefe Anderson on their 25th wedding
 anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued
 happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Anderson as an expression of high regard
 by the Texas House of Representatives.
