SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 43
WHEREAS, When they married on June 8, 1963, Joyce and Eric
Edge made a lifetime commitment to each other, and their mutual
trust has been amply rewarded, for they recently celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary; and
WHEREAS, Joyce and Eric were married at Lakewood Heights
Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia; after Eric graduated from the
Georgia Institute of Technology, his career with Shell Oil
Company took them to New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and
later to Houston, where they lived for 33 years before moving to
Woodland Park in Georgetown in June of 2006; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Edge is now a Shell Oil Company retiree, and
Mrs. Edge is retired from the Social Security Administration; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Edge have been blessed with a
wonderful family; they are beloved and respected by their son,
Eric Edge, Jr., and their daughter, Holly Edge-Booth, and they
take great joy in their granddaughter, Madison Booth; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown closer in their
love and devotion, and their long and happy union is truly an
inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend congratulations
to Mr. and Mrs. Eric Edge on their 50th wedding anniversary; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in
their lives.
