                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 85
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Sharon G. Wilson, who has been named the recipient of a
 2013 Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award; and
 WHEREAS, This prestigious honor is bestowed by Humanities
 Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the
 Humanities; the organization recognizes social studies and
 language arts teachers who have made exemplary contributions to
 Texas schools in the areas of teaching, curriculum development,
 and extracurricular programming; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Wilson is a social studies teacher at Ben
 Bolt-Palito Blanco High School; a dedicated and resourceful
 educator, she instills in her students an appreciation for hard
 work and a love of learning; and
 WHEREAS, Her students greatly benefit from her skillful
 teaching methods, her sincere concern for the individual, and her
 wise counsel and encouragement; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Wilson consistently strives to prepare her
 students to face the challenges of today's complex society, and
 she is truly deserving of recognition for her diligence and her
 successful career as a teacher; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
 Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Sharon G. Wilson
 on her exceptional contributions to education in our state and
 extend congratulations to her on her selection as the recipient
 of a 2013 Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
