The bill would amend the Human Resources Code to require the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission to create, by rule, a list of support services that a state supported living center (SSLC) may provide and also procedures for the establishment of a fee schedule by the Department of Aging and Disability Services for those services. It is assumed that any cost associated with establishing a list of services and a fee schedule would not be significant and could be absorbed within the available resources of the agencies. SSLCs already have the authority to provide services to certain persons residing in the community, but it is not known how current fees charged might differ from those established under the provisions of the bill or whether the list of services might be more or less extensive than what is currently available.
