                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 22, 2015      TO: Honorable Allen Fletcher, Chair, House Committee on Emerging Issues In Texas Law Enforcement, Select      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1338 by Naishtat (Relating to training for peace officers and first responders on certain persons affected by trauma.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Occupations Code to require the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement to work in collaboration with certain entities to establish and maintain two training programs and one continuing education program for first responders and/or police officers on the effects of traumatic brain injury and interaction techniques with individuals with traumatic brain injury.  It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
