The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code add a definition for "claimant" that includes a plaintiff, counterclaimant, cross-claimant, or third-party plaintiff seeking recovery of damages from an action caused by a licensed or registered professional. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
