                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 5, 2015      TO: Honorable Joan Huffman, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1376 by Paddie (Relating to the application of certain concealed handgun license laws to community supervision and corrections department officers and juvenile probation officers; reducing a fee.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to authorize the demonstration of handgun proficiency for certain community supervision, correctional and juvenile probation officers by a sworn statement issued by a certified handgun proficiency instructor indicating the person has demonstrated proficiency in the use of handguns. The bill would also set the fee for the issuance of an original or renewed concealed handgun license at $25 for certain community supervision, correctional and juvenile probation officers.It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.   Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
