Dutton, Jr., Chair, House Committee on Juvenile Justice & Family Issues      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1391 by Burkett (Relating to appointment of a nonparent as managing conservator of a child.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend Chapter 263 of the Family Code to require the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) and the courts to provide certain information to nonparents when they are appointed as the managing conservator of a child. DFPS anticipates no significant fiscal impact as a result of implementing this bill. The Office of Court Administration does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact to the state court system resulting from this bill. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2015.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
