                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 23, 2015      TO: Honorable Larry Phillips, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1417 by Elkins (Relating to peace officer identification cards.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code relating to the re-issuance of a lost or stolen identification card of a peace officer. The bill would require a law enforcement agency that issued an identification card to certain officers to issue a duplicate of the card under certain circumstances. The bill would repeal Subchapter H, Chapter 614, Government Code, as amended by Chapter 1187 ( H.B. 638).The Department of Public Safety indicated that any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
