The bill would amend the Local Government Code to authorize a county clerk in certain counties to require a person filing a document in person to present a photo identification and could make a copy of the document that would remain confidential. The clerk could not charge a fee to copy or record the information from a photo identification. Local Government Impact Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
