The bill amends Chapter 6 of the Family Code to require that the petition in a suit for dissolution of marriage state whether a party to the marriage is pregnant. The bill also amends Chapter 102 of the Family Code to give an intended parent under an authorized gestation agreement standing to file an original suit. The Office of Court Administration anticipates no significant fiscal impact to the state court system resulting from this bill. The bill would go into effect on September 1, 2015. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal impact to local courts is anticipated.
