                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 6, 2015      TO: Honorable Jimmie Don Aycock, Chair, House Committee on Public Education      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1804 by Naishtat (Relating to notice by campuses and open-enrollment charter schools about events that may significantly impact the education of certain foster children.), As Introduced    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require campuses and open-enrollment charter schools, in addition to districts, to provide notifications to a foster child's educational decision-maker and caseworker about events that could significantly impact the education of the child.The bill would have no direct fiscal implications for the operations of the Texas Education Agency or the Department of Family and Protective Services.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. There may be costs to districts and charters to provide the required notifications, but these costs are not anticipated to be significant.
