                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 21, 2015      TO: Honorable John Whitmire, Chair, Senate Committee on Criminal Justice      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1855 by Rose (Relating to training, continuing education, and weapons proficiency standards for correctional officers employed by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to specify various requirements and standards related to training, continuing education, and weapons proficiency for correctional officers employed by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). TDCJ indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2015. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
