                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 13, 2015      TO: Honorable Abel Herrero, Chair, House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1882 by Alvarado (Relating to notice requirements for certain witnesses who are scheduled to appear before a grand jury.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to require that a witness, including a suspect or accused person, who is not granted immunity in exchange for testifying before a grand jury is entitled to receive notice that they are scheduled to appear before the grand jury at least 10 days before their appearance is required, unless notice is waived. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
