84R8359 CAE-D By: King of Hemphill H.B. No. 1935 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT relating to additional state aid for tax reduction provided to certain school districts. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 57.03, Chapter 4 (S.B. 1), Acts of the 82nd Legislature, 1st Called Session, 2011, which amended Section 12.106(a), Education Code, effective September 1, 2017, is repealed. SECTION 2. Section 42.2516(i), Education Code, is amended to read as follows: (i) The legislature by appropriation shall establish the percentage to be applied for purposes of Subsections (b)(1) and (2) and Subsection (d)(1) [is 100.00 percent for the 2011-2012 school year and 92.35 percent for the 2012-2013 school year. For the 2013-2014 school year and each subsequent school year, the legislature by appropriation shall establish the percentage reduction to be applied]. SECTION 3. Section 57.18, Chapter 4 (S.B. 1), Acts of the 82nd Legislature, 1st Called Session, 2011, which amended the heading to Section 42.2516, Education Code, effective September 1, 2017, is repealed. SECTION 4. Section 57.19, Chapter 4 (S.B. 1), Acts of the 82nd Legislature, 1st Called Session, 2011, which amended Section 42.2516(a), Education Code, effective September 1, 2017, is repealed. SECTION 5. Section 57.23, Chapter 4 (S.B. 1), Acts of the 82nd Legislature, 1st Called Session, 2011, which amended Section 42.253(h), Education Code, effective September 1, 2017, is repealed. SECTION 6. Section 57.29, Chapter 4 (S.B. 1), Acts of the 82nd Legislature, 1st Called Session, 2011, which amended Section 26.08(i), Tax Code, effective September 1, 2017, is repealed. SECTION 7. Section 57.32(a), Chapter 4 (S.B. 1), Acts of the 82nd Legislature, 1st Called Session, 2011, which repealed various provisions of the Education Code, is repealed. SECTION 8. Section 57.32(b), Chapter 4 (S.B. 1), Acts of the 82nd Legislature, 1st Called Session, 2011, which repealed Sections 26.08(i-1) and (j), Tax Code, is repealed. SECTION 9. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
