This bill would amend Section 140.010 of the Local Government Code, relating to the proposed property tax rate notice for counties and cities, to modify the deadline by which cities and counties must provide notice of a proposed property tax rate to not later than the latter of September 1st or the 30th day after the first date that the taxing unit has received each applicable certified appraisal roll. The current deadline is not later than September 1st. This bill would take effect January 1, 2016. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
