LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION May 20, 2015 TO: Honorable Joe Straus, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE:HB197 by Price (Relating to requiring certain public institutions of higher education to post information regarding mental health resources on the institution's Internet website.), As Passed 2nd House No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would require certain public institutions of higher education to create a web page on the institution's website dedicated solely to information regarding the mental health resources available to students at the institution. The site also must include the address of the nearest local mental health authority. This analysis assumes that any costs for these institutions of higher education to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
