The bill would amend the Transportation Code relating a two-year initial inspection period for vehicles purchased by a commercial fleet buyer. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each chamber. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2015.This analysis assumes that implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within agency resources. The change to a two year initial inspection could have the effect of increasing revenue in the first year of implementation; however, the amount of the increase cannot be estimated. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
