The bill would amend the Occupations Code to add additional regulations on certain metals bought by metal recyclers. The bill would also authorize the Department of Public Safety to assess administrative penalties against persons or entities who violate these regulations. It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2015. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
