                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 23, 2015      TO: Honorable Geanie Morrison, Chair, House Committee on Environmental Regulation      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2244 by Zerwas (Relating to the regulation of medical waste.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend Chapter 361, Health and Safety Code to give the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) authority over regulating medical waste and change certain requirements and regulations relating to medical waste. TCEQ indicates that rulemaking activities and the revision of existing documents, policies, and procedures necessary to implement the bill can be absorbed within available resources.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
