                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 25, 2015      TO: Honorable Allen Fletcher, Chair, House Committee on Emerging Issues In Texas Law Enforcement, Select      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2279 by Walle (Relating to child and adolescent interaction education and training for certain peace and reserve law enforcement officers.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Occupations Code to require a law enforcement officer to complete a training program on techniques to facilitate interaction with children, adolescents, and teenagers by not later than the second anniversary of the date the officer is licensed or the date the officer applies for an intermediate proficiency certificate, whichever date is earlier.  It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.
