The bill would amend the Occupations Code to require a law enforcement officer to complete a training program on techniques to facilitate interaction with children, adolescents, and teenagers by not later than the second anniversary of the date the officer is licensed or the date the officer applies for an intermediate proficiency certificate, whichever date is earlier. It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2015. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
