The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to stipulate that a commissioned law enforcement officer of a Federal Reserve bank is not a peace officer under the laws of this state, but has the powers of arrest, search, and seizure as to any felony or misdemeanor offense committed under the laws of this state under certain specified conditions. It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the bill could be absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2015. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
