Smithee, Chair, House Committee on Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2370 by Rodriguez, Justin (Relating to a bailiff administering the selection of names of persons for jury service.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Texas Government Code allowing certain officers to be in charge of the jury selection process. The Secretary of State indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources. The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in each house.  Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2015.
