The bill would amend the Insurance Code relating to fire extinguisher service and installation. Thebill would create a new section to specify that Chapter 6001 of the Insurance Code and rulesadopted under that chapter would have uniform force and effect throughout this state and thatcounties and municipalities could not adopt or enforce ordinances, orders, or rules inconsistentwith Chapter 6001 or rules adopted under that chapter. Inconsistent ordinances, orders, or ruleswould be void and have no effect. The bill would also further specify actions related to Chapter 6001, Insurance Code, that certain political subdivisions may or may not take.The bill would take effect immediately, or, if the bill does not receive the necessary vote,September 1, 2015.
